We made it to Sitka off the ferry around 11 on the 12th, i went and visited my family and had the most amazing salmon every(lest than a day old) we went for a bike ride and I'm going back on Sunday for halibut once we get back from the float house. Yesterday we did a hike to Indian Rive Falls and on the way I spotted 3 large trout in the river and 2 eagles sitting in a tree about 10 ft ahead. Leigh and I ran back most of the way but she had some knee problems and we walked about 1/2 mile or so to the trail head. i tried to post a blog about my sled dog adventure but it didn't post... but I decided to go to a summer sled dog camp and go for a ride and learn about the dogs and the Iditarod. While i was there i started talking about a job for the summer and was asking the musher how and when he got started. he said "he was 21 and started but taking care of dogs. then he went out and got a sled and a few dogs, now he mushes." so how knows we will see where the good lord takes me. well we are heading to the float house.

Kelly, The fish you caught may be a rockfish:
There are many kinds of rockfish common to Southeast Alaska, most are identified by platelike scales and fins tipped with sharp spines. Colors range from bright red, orange or brown to bright green or greenish black Most species are caught in deep water and have a gas bladder which greatly expands when water pressure is quickly decreased by bringing the fish to the surface, often destroying them. Handle with care because of the spines. Length to 2 feet (No trophy) Edibility "A" (meaning good to eat)
